HEY THERE!

My name is Ashley.

Welcome to my online journal and creative outlet. Grab a cup of tea, browse the archives and stay awhile!

I have recently re-discovered the wonderful practice of listening to Scripture. I had started back in January when I took part in Beth Moore’s new James study. I tried my hardest to listen to the book of James every time I got in my car. I cannot begin to tell you the amazing blessing it was. For 10-20 min, multiple times a day, I was listening to Scripture, thinking about it, meditating on it. Without a doubt it changed the way I lived my life once I left my car each day.
Well it’s the end of April now and I have re-discovered it and it is just as much of a blessing. I’ve been listening to Colossians over and over this week and have been really thinking about being rooted in Christ (2:6), letting the peace of Christ rule in my heart (3:15), letting the word of Christ dwell in my richly (3:16), and what it means to put to death what is earthly in me (3:5).
If you have the chance, take the time to listen to Scripture as you drive, as you clean, as you do homework, when you’re getting ready in the morning. I promise you that nothing but Him and his Word will speak more truth into your life.
Be encouraged, brothers and sisters! And remember: whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father through him (3:17).
